Burn The Old World came from those moments when you realize part of your life can no longer follow you. An old habit, a belief, a failure, a relationship, or even an older version of yourself. Letting go can feel destructive, but sometimes destruction is simply the beginning of change.
THE IDEA BEHIND BURN THE OLD WORLD
The skull surrounded by flames represents transformation through destruction. The old world burns away, leaving space for something different to take its place.
The anarchy symbol adds another layer to the piece. Not chaos for its own sake, but the rejection of rules, expectations and structures that no longer serve you. Sometimes becoming something new requires questioning what you once accepted without thinking.
Fire destroys, but it also clears the ground.
A HANDMADE BRASS COIN
Each coin begins as a thick blank of solid brass and is individually engraved in deep sculpted relief. The raised surfaces are polished while the recessed areas are darkened by hand, creating strong contrast between the skull, flames and distressed background.
Every coin is engraved, darkened, polished and finished by hand in Québec, Canada. Small variations in tone and finish are part of the process, making each piece slightly different from the next.
